David C. Taylor
David Taylor received his Ph.D. from Carleton University in Ottawa, and has been active for 22 years in the field of oilseed biochemistry, biotechnology, and oil modification. He is a Senior Research Officer at the National Research Council of Canada Plant Biotechnology Institute in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and is an Adjunct Professor in the Plant Science Department at the University of Saskatchewan. His biotechnology program involves creation of value-added oils for use as industrial feedstocks or for human health, and improvement in the oil content of a number of oilseed crops including canola, Brassica carinata and flax. David is a strong advocate for adoption of B. carinata as a new platform crop for delivery of customized bio-industrial oils.
