Chelsey Walchuk

Chelsey Walchuk attended the University of Manitoba where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutritional Sciences in 2013. Chelsey is currently working on the attainment of her Masters of Science degree under her advisor Dr. Miyoung Suh in the department of Human Nutritional Sciences. The topic of her thesis is to determine the effects of lutein and docosahexaenoic acid enriched eggs on visual function in older adults and whether these findings have any implications for the prevention of age-related macular degeneration. Currently, Chelsey is performing her dietetic internship with the Manitoba Partnership Dietetic Education Program to become a registered dietitian and will return to finish her Masters of Science degree in June 2015. Chelsey was awarded the NSERC-CREATE Food Advancement Through Science and Technology (FAST) Scholarship for her academic achievement and research ability.
