Jiann-Tsyh (Ken) Lin, B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Dr. Lin received his B.Sc. degree in Agricultural Chemistry from the National Chung-Hsing University (Taiwan); M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Mississippi (USA); and Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from the Drexel University, Philadelphia (USA). After joining the United States Department of Agriculture, he developed HPLC methods to study the metabolism of steroid hormones and gibberellins. Since 1994, Dr. Lin developed HPLC and MS methods for the lipid analysis and metabolism studies of castor oil. He proposed the biosynthetic pathway of castor oil (selected publications #6, 19). He co-edited a book entitled “HPLC of Acyl Lipids” (2005, HNB Publishing, New York, NY). Dr. Lin was the recipient of Herbert J. Dutton Award of American Oil Chemists’ Society (2009). Currently, he is an associate editor of the Journal of American Oil Chemists’ Society.
