Wim De Greyt, Ph.D.
Wim De Greyt is currently R&D manager at Desmet Ballestra Group in Belgium. He graduated from the University of Ghent, Belgium in 1988 with a degree in Bioscience Engineering – Food Technology. In 1998, he obtained his doctorate in Applied Biological Sciences with a study on the effect of physical refining on minor components in vegetable oils. Afterwards, he joined Extraction De Smet, where he was involved as R&D project leader in various edible oil refining related R&D topics. He is author and co-author of more than 40 publications in international journals and books. In his position as co-chairman of the processing section of EuroFedLipid (EFL), he has acted as a member of various scientific committees of the annual EFL conferences.
