Ariel D. Quiroga, B.Sc., Ph.D.
Dr. Quiroga obtained BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Rosario, Argentina. He then joined Dr. Maria Cristina Carrillos’ laboratory at the Institute of Experimental Physiology (University of Rosario) for PhD project on hepatic preneoplasia (PhD in 2009). In 2009, he joined Dr. Richard Lehner’s group in Canada (Molecular and Cell Biology of Lipids) at the University of Alberta for a post-doctoral training, where he started researching molecular and cell biology aspects of intracellular lipolysis. The main research interest in his project deals with describing the mechanisms underlying the action of endoplasmic reticulum carboxylesterases and their roles in lipid metabolism.
